Pesticides use, Health and Environment (PHE)- Project under UNACOH has disseminated some of the findings from the analysis of pesticides residues in food (tomatoes and cabbages) and water samples in the 17 districts. previous results from Wakiso in 2015 indicated that washing tomatoes with water reduces 70 of the residues while current results in 2018 show that peeling them is much better and proper pesticides container disposal would reduce on the level of pesticides residues in water sources. over 30 pesticides brands were found in the 86 water sources from the 17 districts.
