The second annual review and planning meeting was conducted on 13th February 2020 at UNFFE headquarters. This was a 1-day event that brought together the District Farmers’ Associations from 16 districts, 3 UNFFE senior staff and 4 UNACOH/PHE project, staff. A total of 24 participants were present, the participants were given an opportunity to acquire basic knowledge on advocacy and its application through a lecture which was conducted by the UNFFE policy and membership manager. Apart from the advocacy lecture, discussions in the meeting mainly centered on the status of the project, the key issues/matters arising during implementation in the respective districts and the work plan for the final project period. The meeting formed a platform for sharing the rapid assessment results on the performance of various DFAs and demonstrated the need for improvement in activity implementation by the different DFAs.
This meeting also provided a platform for DFAs to learn and understand how to do advocacy in their districts and how to improve on procedures for requisitions, implementation, reporting and submission of accountabilities to UNACOH.
Generally, the meeting was very important for the DFAs to appreciate the project and embrace the available opportunities in the remaining project period.
